bdesign is the melbourne based design company of Craig Boyes.

Craig Boyes has over 30 years of experience designing shows and working in and around the entertainment industry. Due to commence a masters degree in the creative industries he has worked extensively in theatre, with bands and designing events and exhibitions.

His work in theatre includes professional productions of Anything Goes, 42nd street, Me and My Girl, Crazy for you, Les Miserable’s, Cats and Sunset Boulevard.

Craig is comfortable across genre’s with extensive touring in Australia and NZ for various bands and festival’s including Supergroove, The Dead Flowers, Thorazine Shuffle, Leonardos Bride, The Badloves, Missy Higgins, Paul Mac and most recently Ziggy Alberts.

With his background in theatre and music this has led to an extensive number of projects designing many corporate events such as Red carpets for ‘Moulon Rouge’, ‘Thor’ and ‘Unbroken’. The launches of the PS2, Wynns Day wine release, Porsche Taycan and many others as well as Fashion events for Sportsgirl, Zambesi and Metalicus. Installations at the Australian Open, Melbourne Grand Prix and exhibitions such as The “Da Vinci Machines exhibit here in Melbourne, San Francisco and Macau. The Antarctic section on Melbourne aquarium and other temporary exhibits such as ‘creepy creatures’.

Craigs portfolio is varied and diverse with a continuing drive to integrate new technologies and push the boundaries of how we experience ‘live events’ no more so than during the COVID pandemic and the development of streaming entertainment and events during lockdowns.

As we emerge from this time we hope it will be a time of renaissance and resurgence for the entertainment sector.
