Here we are again. Not for long I hope.

So here we are again, for me this is lockdown number 6 and I thought I was getting pretty good at this but I don’t think I am anymore.

This one has been made harder by the little piece of daylight in between, that point where there was glimmer of hope that things might be starting up again to have the power cut at the last minute and everything went dark again.

But enough of that.

It’s time for a recap.

This time last year I was asked to help out with a series about the impact of the pandemic on the events industry, informative and still relevant - maybe more relevant than when we filmed them last year this is the trailer, you can see the rest of the episodes here.

Of course being in lockdown for much of the year we looked for stuff to do, some pivoted, some educated themselves, some just read books. I think I may have tried all 3…

  • I am enrolled to do my masters in Creative industries later in the year at JDC academy.

  • I helped create a digital DJ environment for my crazy mate Veasna so we could green screen a live DJ into an L8 environment to stream the party direct to you TV at home.

  • and books well I read books.

here are some pics from my year…

At last in February a gig came along, thanks to Veasna and the great guys at Technical events for having me onboard.

I also

  • Assisted Mandylights to light up Moama on Moama lights.

  • Some follow spot work on Mama Mia in Wonthaggi.

  • A circus cabaret in Fish Creek.

  • Spent time as a deckhand on some really fast boats with the amazing and knowledgeable captain Ned at High tide boating .

  • did a lighting show on a boat.

and finally drove trucks for a bit.

So that’s 2021 so far. I am hoping things get better by my birthday, I’d love to have visitors or even to do a gig again.

Hope to see you all soon.

Cheers
